Question no. 8368 3 pts basic B

Does the visible sign indicate that you should turn right at the nearest roadway?

Show the correct answer

Correct answer

NO

Explanation

In the video you are driving along a street among houses behind a dark car and approaching a junction; on the right, before the junction, there is sign B-22 "no right turn" - round, with a crossed-out arrow pointing right; further ahead you can see sign A-5. The signs you can see do not indicate that you should turn right - on the contrary, they prohibit turning right into the nearest roadway. The answer is: no.

The Regulation on road signs and signals states that sign B-22 "no right turn" prohibits turning in the direction shown on the sign, and the prohibition applies at the nearest junction. An order to turn right would look completely different - that is the blue round sign C-1 or C-2 with a white arrow. It is easy to confuse these signs in the exam, so it is worth remembering: a red border and a line through the symbol mean a prohibition, a blue background means an order. Beyond sign B-22 you go straight on or turn left (if nothing else prohibits it), and you reach a destination on the right by the next side street.

Legal basis: § 22 para. 1 and 2 and § 35 para. 1 of the Regulation on road signs and signals
