Question no. 7540 2 pts specialist DD1

Are you allowed to haul a lorry with a trailer by means of a bus?

Show the correct answer

Correct answer

C. No.

Explanation

This question is about towing a lorry with a trailer using a bus. You are not allowed to do this - answer C.

The Road Traffic Act prohibits towing more than one vehicle, except for an articulated vehicle. A lorry with a trailer is two vehicles, so towing them at once is prohibited regardless of the road (answer A is wrong) and of other circumstances (answer B). Such a combination would be hard to control when braking, and the trailer could start to sway and overturn. First the trailer is uncoupled, and then the lorry alone is towed. Also remember the other rules: on a motorway, as a general rule, only vehicles designed for this purpose may tow, and only to the nearest exit or rest area (MOP), and when towing in a way that removes the need to steer and brake the towed vehicle, the actual total mass of the towed vehicle must not exceed the mass of the towing vehicle.

Legal basis: Art. 31 para. 2 point 3 and 5 and para. 3 of the Road Traffic Act (Prawo o ruchu drogowym)
