Show the correct answer

Correct answer

A. Up to 10 hours.

Explanation

In the photo a bus is driving in a lane marked "BUS", and next to it you can see a tachograph record sheet. You may extend the daily driving time to a maximum of 10 hours - answer A.

The EU Regulation provides that daily driving time must not exceed 9 hours, but it may be extended to no more than 10 hours, at most twice a week. The values of 11 hours (answer B) and 12 hours (answer C) exceed this limit - 11 hours, in turn, is the regular daily rest period. An extension does not free you from breaks: after every 4.5 hours of driving you are entitled to a break of at least 45 minutes. You must also stay within the limit of 56 hours a week and 90 hours in two consecutive weeks.

Legal basis: Art. 6 para. 1-3 and Art. 7 of Regulation (EC) No 561/2006
