In this situation, can you turn right at the intersection?

Show the correct answer

Correct answer

YES

Explanation

In the photo, a tram is at a stop before a junction. The tram traffic lights next to the stop show a white vertical bar, and the traffic lights for cars show a red light. In this situation, you are allowed to turn right at the junction - the answer is YES.

A tram follows the signals of the tram traffic lights, not the lights for cars. A vertical bar means permission to drive beyond the traffic lights. ST traffic lights do not show a direction, so a vertical bar allows you to go in any direction in which the tracks lead - also to the right. When turning, remember the pedestrians on the crossing in front of the tram - the tram driver gives way to a pedestrian who is on the crossing. The permission also does not apply when the tram would make it difficult for pedestrians to leave the roadway.

Legal basis: § 103 and § 104 para. 1 point 1 and para. 2 of the Regulation on road signs and signals; Art. 26 para. 1a of the Road Traffic Act (Prawo o ruchu drogowym)
