Which of the following elements are obligatory equipment on a motorcycle?
Show the correct answer
Correct answer
A. A horn.
Explanation
In the photo you can see a single-track motorcycle and next to it three objects: a horn, a fire extinguisher and a first-aid kit. The only mandatory equipment of a motorcycle among these is the horn - answer A.
The Regulation on the technical conditions of vehicles states that a motor vehicle - and therefore also a motorcycle - is equipped with a horn with a continuous and non-piercing tone, with a sound level of no less than 87 dB for a motorcycle. A fire extinguisher is required in motor vehicles, but the rule states directly that it does not apply to a motorcycle. A first-aid kit is not mandatory equipment of a motorcycle or of a passenger car - it is required only in some vehicles, for example in buses, taxis and driving school vehicles. The horn on a motorcycle is particularly important, because a two-wheeler can easily disappear in the blind spot of a car's mirror: a short signal warns a driver who starts changing lanes without seeing you. You use it only when you need to warn of danger - in a built-up area and beyond sign B-29 only when there is an immediate threat to road safety.
