Can you make a U-turn on the bridge?

Show the correct answer

Correct answer

NO

Explanation

In the photo you are driving onto a bridge with white and blue barriers; before it, on the right, there is sign F-4 with the name of the river "Wisła" (the Vistula). You do not have the right to make a U-turn on the bridge. The answer is: no.

The Road Traffic Act prohibits making a U-turn in a tunnel, on a bridge, on a flyover or on a one-way road, and also in conditions in which it could endanger road safety or obstruct traffic. The bridge is narrow, bounded by barriers and without a shoulder, and a U-turn requires stopping across the roadway - another driver entering the bridge has nowhere to escape. The Regulation on road signs and signals states that sign F-4 only gives the name of the river over which the road passes - it is information that you are entering a bridge. If you want to go back, you cross the bridge and make a U-turn at the nearest junction or at another place where it is allowed.

Legal basis: Art. 22 para. 6 point 1 and 4 of the Road Traffic Act (Prawo o ruchu drogowym); § 69 para. 4 of the Regulation on road signs and signals
