Do the signs you see here warn you that you are approaching a pedestrian crossing?

Show the correct answer

Correct answer

NO

Explanation

In the video you are driving along a road through a village, and on the right there are warning signs on one post: A-12a "road narrows on both sides" and A-17 "children", and further on sign D-1. These signs do not warn that you are approaching a pedestrian crossing. The answer is: no.

The Regulation on road signs and signals states that sign A-12a warns that the roadway narrows on both sides, and sign A-17 warns of a place on the road that is especially often used by children, or that such a place is near; a pedestrian crossing would be signalled by sign A-16 with the symbol of a pedestrian on a crossing. The sign with two running figures is easy to confuse with A-16, but it means a school or playground nearby, not a zebra crossing. Beyond these signs you slow down, watch the roadsides and expect children running onto the roadway, and in the narrow section - oncoming vehicles closer to the centre line.
