You are driving a bus which performs paid transport on regular lines. Are you allowed to use the right lane at any time in this situation?

Show the correct answer

Correct answer

YES

Explanation

In the photo, at the right-hand edge of the roadway, there is sign D-11 "start of bus lane" with the words "BUS TAXI" and a plate "Obowiązuje pn.-pt. w godz. 7-9, 14-18" (applies Monday to Friday, 7-9 and 14-18), and the word "BUS" is painted on the roadway. When driving a bus that carries passengers for payment on regular routes, you are allowed to use this lane at any time - the answer is YES.

The Regulation on road signs and signals states that sign D-11 marks the beginning of a lane intended for buses or trolleybuses and other vehicles carrying passengers for payment on regular routes, and a word on the sign additionally allows the vehicles it names - here, taxis. The plate with the hours shows when the lane is reserved. Outside these hours other drivers may also use it, but a regular public transport bus always has the right to use it, because the lane was created for it. Remember that a bus lane does not free you from caution near stops and exits from properties - cars from other lanes may turn right across your lane.

Legal basis: § 49 para. 1 and 2 and § 91 para. 1 of the Regulation on road signs and signals
