Does the car approaching from the right side have the right of way, in this situation?
Show the correct answer
Correct answer
NO
Explanation
In the video we are driving a tram on separate tram tracks along a street; on the right there is a car park, from which cars cross the tracks at a marked place. In this situation the car approaching from the right does not have right of way - the answer is NO.
A car leaving the car park is joining traffic (włączanie się do ruchu) - it is entering the road from a roadside property - so it must exercise particular caution and give way to other vehicles, including the tram. In addition, where directions of traffic cross and the right of way is not determined by signs, a tram has right of way over other vehicles, regardless of the side from which they approach. So the right-hand rule does not apply to a tram. However, the tram driver watches the car park exit, because a driver may not notice the tram.
