Are you allowed to drive onto the solid line dividing the traffic lanes?
Show the correct answer
Correct answer
NO
Explanation
Before the junction, the lanes in your direction are separated by a single solid line; further on, beyond the junction, the line is broken again. A solid line means not only that you must not cross it, but also that you must not drive onto it. So you must not even touch it with your wheels, for example by "cutting" the corner.
The Regulation on road signs and signals says that road marking P-2 "single solid line" separates lanes with the same direction of traffic and means that crossing this line and driving onto it is prohibited. The road authority paints it before a junction so that drivers move into the correct lane in good time and do not change it at the last moment.
Legal basis: § 86 para. 3 of the Regulation on road signs and signals
