If you are driving a tram merging into the traffic, are you obliged to observe the track, which you intend to enter?
Show the correct answer
Correct answer
YES
Explanation
In the video a tram is standing on a track leading out of a turning loop and is waiting for another tram to pass in front of it on the track we intend to enter. When driving a tram that is joining traffic (włączanie się do ruchu), you are obliged to watch the track you intend to enter - the answer is YES.
Driving a rail vehicle onto a road from a depot or onto a roadway from a turning loop is joining traffic. A driver joining traffic is obliged to exercise particular caution and to give way to other vehicles and road users - also to other trams running on the track they are entering. You cannot do this without watching the track and its surroundings. You wait for the tram to pass, check that another one is not coming, and only then move off, also looking out for pedestrians crossing the tracks.
