Question illustration: Does this sign indicate that children are accompanied at this point through the road by an authorized person?

Does this sign indicate that children are accompanied at this point through the road by an authorized person?

Show the correct answer

Correct answer

NO

Explanation

In the photo a tram is approaching a pedestrian crossing over the tram tracks and the roadway; at the crossing there is sign D-1, sign D-6 "pedestrian crossing", and under it a yellow plate T-27 with the figure of a child; the traffic lights show green. This sign does not mean that children are escorted across the roadway at this point by an authorised person - the answer is NO.

Plate T-27 placed under sign D-6 shows that the pedestrian crossing is used especially often by children. It does not mean that there is a person at the crossing who escorts children across. A person supervising the safe crossing of children over the roadway is authorised to give instructions and signals, but their presence does not follow from this plate. Knowing that children use the crossing, you reduce speed and watch the pavements carefully - a child may run onto the crossing suddenly and without looking around.
