What should you not do when assessing whether an accident victim is conscious or not?

In the photo a driver is sitting limply behind the steering wheel, with his head resting on his shoulder - you need to check whether he is conscious. When assessing the casualty's consciousness, you should not pour water on his face - the answer is A.

The Road Traffic Act requires a person involved in an accident to give the necessary help to the victims and to call the emergency medical team, and the Criminal Code punishes failing to help a person in danger. Consciousness is checked in two steps: first you loudly ask the casualty whether they can hear you, and then you gently shake them by the shoulders - these are answers B and C, which are the correct actions. Pouring water on the face checks nothing, and it does harm: the water may get into the airway of an unconscious person, it makes them cold, and it makes facial injuries harder to see. If the casualty does not respond, you call for help, open the airway and check breathing for no longer than 10 seconds, and if there is no breathing, you start CPR.
