Are you obliged to stop the moped?
Show the correct answer
Correct answer
YES
Explanation
In the video we are riding in the right lane of a street in town, next to tram tracks; a bus stop line P-17 is painted in our lane, and on the left a tram is pulling into a stop without a traffic island; in our lane in front of us there are pedestrians crossing between the tram and the pavement. In this situation you are obliged to stop the moped - the answer is YES.
The Road Traffic Act requires you to exercise particular caution when passing a tram stop that is not next to a footway (droga dla pieszych). If the stop has no island for passengers and a tram is pulling into it or standing at it, the driver must stop the vehicle in such a place and for such a time as to allow pedestrians to walk freely to the tram or to the pavement. Here passengers are crossing your lane, so you stop in such a way that you do not drive onto the pedestrians' path, and you move off only when everyone has left the roadway.
