Question illustration: Does this sign oblige the driver to turn right at the nearest intersection?

Does this sign oblige the driver to turn right at the nearest intersection?

Show the correct answer

Correct answer

YES

Explanation

In the photo you can see the entry to a junction, with a round blue sign C-2 "turn right after the sign". This sign obliges the driver to turn right at the nearest junction - the answer is YES.

Mandatory direction signs, including C-2, oblige the driver to travel in the direction shown by the arrow, and they apply at the nearest junction or at the place where it is possible to change direction. So beyond this sign you must turn right - you must not go straight on or turn left. Do not confuse it with sign C-1 "turn right before the sign", which requires you to turn even before the sign, or with sign C-9, which only requires you to pass the sign on its right side. Before turning, you move towards the right edge of the roadway and switch on your right indicator.

Legal basis: § 35 para. 1 and 2 of the Regulation on road signs and signals; Art. 22 para. 2 point 1 of the Road Traffic Act (Prawo o ruchu drogowym)
