Question no. 11066 2 pts basic AM

Is it permitted to turn left from the occupied lane or make a U-turn at this intersection?

Show the correct answer

Correct answer

YES

Explanation

In the video we are driving in the far left lane of the roadway towards a junction; a combined arrow for turning left and for a U-turn is painted on our lane, and at the right edge there is a 30 km/h speed limit sign. From the lane you are in, a left turn or a U-turn is allowed at this junction - the answer is YES.

Lane direction arrows P-8a, P-8b and P-8c mean that from the lane on which they are painted you may drive only in the directions shown, and combined symbols of these markings allow traffic in each of the directions shown. On our lane the left-turn arrow and the U-turn arrow are combined, so you may perform both manoeuvres here. However, from this lane you may not go straight on or turn right. When choosing a lane, you look at the arrows early enough, because changing lanes just before a junction is dangerous. When making a U-turn, you give way to oncoming vehicles.
